Shots Broiler remix
I was scrolling around my phone some days ago and saw a video of compilations of best imagine dragons songs and just so happened to find an edit of all kinds of sunny photos of natural landscapes.
I was immediately interested since to me, the band Imagine Dragons always meant some kind of dark powerful anthems like Believer, Natural or Bones which is the type of song you listen to after having an absolutely messed up day. Shots (Broiler Remix) was quite different. Despite having lyrics about the singer being anxious and thinking they ruined things in their life, the song itself is quite hopeful especially in the line “Oh love, can you hear me?” I love how unlike the original “Shots”, the song starts with 4/4 piano chords, 4 for each bar similar to how Carly Rae Jespen’s “Good time” started.
I also am especially delight to find out the part “From the second that I was born, I think I had a loaded gun” was actually placed after the short instrumental bridge where the original part connected that directly to the first verse?
I realized that I had been listening to a remix this whole time and the original Shots is much different from what I kept playing so I might have a certain degree of bias while stating how much I like this version better. Anyways, this does make a great summer song for me.
